A hunt is currently in progress for a surfer who is believed to have died following a shark attack in Australia.
On Saturday, rescuers were looking for a 46-year-old surfer who is thought to have been attacked and killed by a shark in the waters near South Australia's Walkers Rocks Beach. The police released a statement saying that a man is presumed dead due to a shark attack.
The secluded beach that is well-liked by surfers is situated close to Elliston, a small town with a population of less than 1,000 individuals, which is approximately 400 miles to the south of Adelaide, the capital city of the state.
The man whose identity is not known is from that place.
A British ex-pat was killed by a 15-foot great white shark in an incident that has been classified as "provoked." Community members are assisting in the search for the victim, and local emergency services and other resources are being utilized. The attack was witnessed by several surfers, and a damaged wetsuit was found during the search. No one else was injured in the attack, and a similar incident occurred in Western Australia earlier this year. Reuters contributed to this report.
