The House Oversight committee has claimed that the Biden family attempted to hide the origin of funds received from foreign nationals, which amounted to millions of dollars.
According to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, while Joe Biden
was vice president, the Biden family and their business partners established
over 20 companies and received over $10 million from foreign nationals. The
committee suspects that some of these payments may have been an attempt to
influence others. The committee's chairman, James Comer, released a memo with
new information from their investigation into the Biden family's business
dealings. The memo suggests that the Biden family tried to hide the source and
amount of money received from foreign companies. The committee has subpoenaed
four banks and received thousands of records related to specific individuals
and companies that did business with the Biden family and their associates.
According
to a report, the Biden family and their associates established more than 20
companies during Joe Biden's time as vice president, many of which were
limited liability companies. The report also suggests that six other members
of the Biden family may have gained advantages from Hunter Biden's business
dealings. The companies were primarily formed in Delaware and Washington,
D.C., with assistance from Hunter Biden's business partners Rob Walker and
James Gilliar.
According to the memo, Hunter Biden and his business
partners established a minimum of 15 companies after he became the vice
president in 2009.
The list of companies comprises Lion Hall Group LLC,
Owasco P.C., Robinson Walker, LLC, Skaneateles, LLC, Seneca Global Advisors,
LLC, Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC, Rosemont Seneca Principal Investments LLC,
Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC, Hudson West III, LLC, Hudson West V, LLC, CEFC
Infrastructure Investment (US), and several others.
According to a memo,
bank records indicate that the Biden family, their associates, and their
businesses received more than $10 million from foreign companies. The memo
also states that payments were made to Biden family members from foreign
companies during Joe Biden's time as Vice President and after he left public
office. The Biden family allegedly used their associates' companies to receive
money from foreign companies, and the payments were made incrementally over
time to different bank accounts. The memo also suggests that Biden associates
received large deposits from foreign sources into their bank accounts and then
transferred smaller payments to Biden's bank accounts. The White House has
criticized the GOP for conducting an "evidence-free" investigation into the
Biden family.
The financial transactions in question are complex and
appear to serve the purpose of concealing the source and amount of money
received from foreign companies. The committee claims that Chinese individuals
and companies with ties to Chinese intelligence and the Communist Party used
domestic limited liability companies to hide the origin of the funds. The
committee is investigating the intricate corporate structure of companies
associated with the Biden family, their connections with each other, whether
they kept proper records, and why foreign nationals sought to do business with
specific members of the Biden family and their companies. The committee
suspects that the Biden family may have received money from foreign nationals
attempting to influence the United States.
The term "policy" refers to a
set of guidelines or rules that are established by an organization or
government to guide decision-making and behavior.
The committee found out
that Hunter Biden, with the help of Rob Walker, was given over $1 million by a
foreign company that is said to be under the control of Gabriel Popoviciu, who
is being investigated and prosecuted for corruption in Romania.
In 2014
and 2015, the former Vice President Biden held meetings with Romanian
officials to discuss corruption in the country. However, in 2017, his son
Hunter Biden sent a message to the Chairman of a Chinese energy company,
expressing good wishes from the entire Biden family and requesting a $10
million wire transfer. The committee is worried about the Biden family's
tendency to seek business opportunities in areas where the former Vice
President had significant influence and impacted US policies.
The memo
stated "the policy".
According to a committee, there is evidence that the
Biden family and their associates were involved in a plan to sell their
influence in Romania between 2015 and 2017. The committee discovered that not
only did Hunter Biden, James Gilliar, and Rob Walker receive money from
foreign sources, but James Biden, Hallie Biden, and other members of the Biden
family also received payments from foreign entities. The committee provided
details of the payments received from Chinese and Romanian individuals and
businesses.
The memo specifically mentions two individuals, Ye Jianming
and Gongwen Dong, in relation to China and cautions that a specific business
venture involving them could potentially endanger American national security.
These individuals were linked to Hunter Biden's partnership with CEFC, a
Chinese energy corporation.
Sources have revealed that Hunter Biden is
currently being investigated by federal authorities for his "tax affairs" and
his connections to Chinese funds have also come to light. According to a memo,
Ye, who had close connections to the Chinese Communist Party, was detained by
the CCP in 2018 and was reportedly the deputy secretary-general for an
international outreach arm of the People's Liberation Army.
According to
the memo, the Bidens were given millions of dollars through their partnership
with China.
Hunter Biden tried to distance himself from his association
with Ye after the latter was detained by the Chinese authorities. He did so by
stating that he had never received any payment from CEFC.
The statement
was not true. According to the memo, Ye sent a $24 million wire to Hunter's
company, Hudson West V.
Hunter's company, Owasco, P.C., received a wire
transfer of $100,000 from CEFC. Additionally, emails revealed that Biden wrote
a recommendation letter for the son of Hunter's business partner in China. The
Senate report from 2020 disclosed this information on August.
On August
8th, 2017, CEFC transferred almost $5 million to the bank account of Hudson
West III, a company that Hunter Biden established with Chinese partners.
In
2020, Fox News Digital was the first to report that Hunter Biden had asked for
keys to be made for his new "office mates." These included his father, Jill
Biden, and his uncle, Jim Biden. Hunter planned to share the space with
Gongwen.
According to the memo, the Biden family and their associates
worked with Chinese individuals and companies to engage in financial deceit.
The memo also states that several members of the Biden family received money
from Chinese sources through the Robinson Walker, LLC account, and that Hunter
Biden received money directly into his company's account from a
Chinese-controlled entity.
According to the memo, the Committee will
persist in the process of making arrangements with individuals who have not
been cooperative in the investigation.
The Committee intends to collect
more bank records soon and persist in tracking the flow of money. Text
messages from a business associate of Hunter Biden suggest a meeting with Joe
Biden. The Committee is dedicated to uncovering deceit, inefficiency, and
misuse of resources that occur within the upper echelons of the federal
government.
The White House criticized the committee's investigation,
calling it "politically motivated" and lacking evidence. Additionally, they
have consistently stated that President Biden has never been involved in his
son's business affairs. To obtain the Fox News app, click on the provided
