The Stars managed to defeat the Kraken in Game 7 and move on to the Western Conference finals.
On Monday night, the Dallas Stars won 2-1 against the Seattle Kraken in Game 7 of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which allowed them to move forward to the Western Conference finals.
The Stars will now compete against the Vegas Golden Knights to determine which team will advance to the Stanley Cup finals representing the Western Conference next month.
The Kraken, who had only been a team for two years, aimed to make it to the conference finals. However, the Stars' impressive performance on offense and defense dashed those aspirations.
Thanks to the strong defense, Jake Oettinger, the goaltender, only had to make 22 saves. Additionally, Dallas was able to take advantage of two chances against Philipp Grubauer, the Kraken goaltender.

The Stars cleared the puck from their area to switch players, but Hintz had different plans as he quickly entered the game. He charged towards the blue line and took the puck from Jamie Oleksiak, scoring a goal over Grubauer's right shoulder and giving Dallas a 1-0 lead. The Golden Knights secured a spot in the Western Conference final by defeating the Oilers.
Next, in the Kraken's zone, the newcomer Wyatt Johnston obtained possession of the puck on his stick when Evgenii Dadonov sent a pass down the ice upon realizing that there were no opponents nearby.
Johnston retrieved the puck from the corner wall, advanced towards the net, and lifted it over Grubauer's left shoulder to score the second goal, giving them a 2-0 lead with 7:12 remaining in the third period.
The Kraken seemed to be losing the game, and it appeared that the situation was hopeless. However, Seattle was determined not to surrender without a fight.
In the crucial game, Oliver Bjorkstrand managed to score a goal with his backhand in the last 17.6 seconds, which helped his team to win the game with a score of 2-1 by getting the puck past Oettinger.
Although he knew that the Kraken had to achieve the impossible, his response was sad. Despite winning a draw in their zone with only nine seconds left, their net remained empty.
Despite one final attempt to score against Oettinger, it was unsuccessful as he successfully blocked the shot, securing the win for the Stars.
Although Dallas has won the conference title three times, they only have one Stanley Cup in their possession.
The most recent one occurred in the 2019-20 season, whereas the triumph in the Stanley Cup took place in the 1998-99 season.
