The judge has ordered that Benjamin Conroy, who admitted to sexually exploiting a minor last year, will have to complete a 15-year probationary period after his release from prison.
According to court documents, a school bus driver in Pennsylvania named Conroy, who worked at an elementary school in Portland, has been accused of sexually abusing a nonverbal autistic student. Additionally, Conroy allegedly sent explicit images to someone who reported the incident to the Portland Police Department.

According to lawyer Darcie McElwee, Conroy took advantage of a child with special needs in a school, a place where parents should feel confident about their children's safety. He used his position as a school employee to victimize the child. A Georgia middle school teacher was arrested for allegedly molesting a student in a library closet. The defense argued that Conroy had experienced sexual abuse as a child and was dealing with mental illness, addiction to painkillers, and a head injury at the time of the abuse.
