According to the police, a man from Texas fatally shot his girlfriend because he disagreed with her decision to have an abortion.
According to authorities, a man from Texas who was opposed to his girlfriend getting an abortion, fatally shot her during a dispute in a parking lot in Dallas after she had undergone the procedure.
Harold Thompson, who is 22 years old, is currently detained in the Dallas County Jail on a murder accusation and has been denied bail.
As per the affidavit for an arrest warrant, Thompson and his girlfriend, Gabriella Gonzalez, were in each other's company on Wednesday when he made an effort to strangle her.
According to the affidavit, it is thought that the individual in question was the biological father of the child.
The individual opposed the idea of Gonzalez having an abortion. A new law in Nevada is being proposed to protect the right to have an abortion in the state's constitution, while in Texas, most abortions have been prohibited with only medical emergency exceptions, following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Since September 2021, it has been illegal to have an abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which usually occurs at approximately six weeks into the pregnancy.
The 2021 law allows private individuals to take legal action against anyone who assists or supports an abortion.
Thompson and Gonzalez had an altercation the day after Gonzalez came back from having an abortion in Colorado.
According to the police, the surveillance footage captured Gonzalez pushing the person away before they both proceeded to walk.
Afterwards, Thompson retrieves a firearm and fires a shot into Gonzalez's head.
According to the affidavit, he shot her several times after she had fallen to the ground and then left the area.
Later on Wednesday, Thompson was taken into custody.
According to the police, Gonzalez's sister was present at the location where the gunshots were heard.
Thompson was seen by another person trying to strangle Gonzalez, but the witness couldn't inform the authorities because she didn't have her mobile phone with her.

Although Gonzalez is not explicitly identified as the victim in the affidavit from the March incident, it does indicate that the woman reported to the authorities that Thompson had physically assaulted her on several occasions during their relationship. Additionally, Thompson had informed the police that she was carrying his child at the time.
According to the affidavit, the woman repeated that she is afraid of the suspect because he had previously threatened to harm her family and children.
