Lesbians are refuting the notion that they are individuals who are not attracted to men and are not men themselves.

According to a lesbian TikToker named Carol Hatch, the attempt by the LGBTQ community to redefine the word "lesbian" as someone who loves "non-men" is a terrible thing. She believes that this is a form of abuse against women, not just lesbians.
According to the speaker, there is a belief that trans women, who were born male, are superior to women who were born female. This has led to some young women feeling so negatively about themselves that they cannot even refer to themselves as "women."
Last month, the It Gets Better Project, an LGBTQ advocacy group, collaborated with Phoebe, a creator who identifies as a trans-masculine lesbian and non-binary, to post a TikTok video in which they referred to themselves as "non-men."
Phoebe talks about the unjust practice of women monopolizing the term "lesbian." She argues that defining lesbians as "non-men" disregards their history. According to Phoebe, there is a misunderstanding that being a lesbian simply means being a woman who loves other women.
The definition refers to individuals who are not male and are attracted to and have affection for other non-male individuals. The statement also mentions that there are transgender men who previously identified as lesbians and non-binary individuals who identify as lesbians.
The statement "There are numerous ways to identify as a lesbian" was made, but the It Gets Better Project did not provide a response when asked for their thoughts.
The push for change is not only coming from advocates for the LGBTQ community.
According to Johns Hopkins University, a lesbian is someone who is not a man and is attracted to others who are also not men. The university's website explains that while previous definitions only included women who were emotionally, romantically, and/or sexually attracted to other women, the updated definition now includes non-binary individuals who may also identify as lesbian.
Hatch, who has identified as a lesbian for as long as she can recall, expressed her disapproval of the idea by calling it a "travesty." She stated that the concept of non-binary individuals being considered as lesbians implies that there are no longer any genuine lesbians.
Whenever you use the prefix 'non' before a word, you are stripping away your human qualities. Saying "I am non this" or "I am non that" implies that you are not human. What exactly are you then? Hatch questioned.
As a young woman, it is perfectly acceptable to be any type of young woman.
The elimination of gender identities by the LGBTQ community is seen as a setback to the progress made by gay individuals and women in achieving equality over the past few decades, according to Hatch. She expressed sadness that the community feels so bad about themselves that they now identify as non-man. Hatch, who grew up in a conservative area of California, recalls the time when gay Americans were treated as inferior and denied equal rights.

According to Hatch, being a masculine woman was not widely accepted and they faced a lot of discrimination over time. She was frequently mistaken for a man, asked to leave women's restrooms, sexually assaulted, and was discharged from the Marine Corps after revealing her homosexuality to a psychiatrist.
She informed Fox News that there were numerous changes that occurred, but they were accompanied by difficulties in adapting. Additionally, women also experienced the effects of these changes.
During that period, they were struggling for equal pay and equal rights. The Trevor Project, an organization that aims to prevent suicide among LGBTQ youth, published a blog post stating that stereotyping lesbians can be harmful and oversimplified. The post emphasizes that gender, appearance, and sexuality are distinct aspects of people's identities that can intersect in complex ways. Hatch, on the other hand, has always considered herself to be progressive and has previously supported women's and LGBTQ rights.
In the past, she observed her community as a positive and hospitable place, but now she sees it as unrecognizable. Hatch no longer endorses the current state of the LGBTQ community and does not identify as a member anymore. Additionally, she claims that many people have expressed that she is not accepted.
She now utilizes TikTok to promote ideas that go against the beliefs of her previous community.
A drag performer has expressed their opposition to the idea of allowing children to attend drag shows, stating that such events are meant for adults only. The performer also mentioned that some people argue that allowing children to attend such shows erases the history of the drag community.

The speaker questions how someone can deny their personal experiences by stating, "How are you going to tell me I don't know what I lived?" According to a Gallup poll conducted in February, the percentage of adults who identified as LGBTQ has increased significantly over the past ten years, rising from 3.5% in 2012 to 7.2% in 2022.
The biggest portion of the growth is attributed to Gen Z, as almost 20% of them identify as LGBTQ.
Hatch suggested that the surge in gender ideology is probably a passing trend among teenagers and young adults, and it is depriving individuals of their distinctiveness.
She informed Fox News that presently, everyone is either homosexual or transgender.
During the fight for same-sex marriage rights, opponents claimed that allowing it would result in more radical changes in society regarding sex and gender, questioning why individuals couldn't just be themselves without any issues.
Hatch suggested that the slippery slope argument may be accurate as there are instances of men wearing dresses entering locker rooms and exposing themselves.

She stated that if she had been aware of the information she knows now, she might have still supported gay rights, but she would have put in more effort to ensure that children were not involved in adult matters.
