An autistic teenager who cannot communicate verbally was attacked at a pizzeria in Arizona, and the perpetrator has not been apprehended yet.
Last week, a pizza restaurant incident left an autistic son of an Arizona couple beaten up, and they are now pursuing justice.
On May 7, Vincent Courey, a 16-year-old teenager with autism who cannot speak, visited a Peoria restaurant where his siblings are employed to have some pizza.
According to his parents, he tapped someone on the shoulder while observing others play games.
Vincent's mother, Debora Escobar, informed FOX 10 Phoenix that he has autism and does not communicate verbally.
He has no intention of causing any harm.
According to reports, a group of customers were angered by the teenager's gesture, which they perceived as his way of communicating, and proceeded to physically assault him.
Vincent's father, Michael Escobar, described how they took him to a place without any cameras or witnesses, and proceeded to physically assault him before attempting to flee the area.
A group of kind-hearted individuals from Ohio quickly came to the aid of a police officer who was engaged in a physical altercation on the side of the road. One of the witnesses, named Debora, recounted how the suspects were hitting her son who is unable to speak. She expressed her disapproval of such behavior towards a woman.
Michael witnessed a situation where someone was being physically harmed but was unable to communicate their distress. Despite feeling powerless, Michael took action by contacting the authorities when he overheard a heated argument between two groups at a restaurant.
He was unaware that his son had made physical contact with someone until he was informed at a later time.
I am considering that it is unlikely for my son to behave in such a manner.
Debora reported that Vincent arrived at home with welts all over his body.
A suspect in Arizona, who was armed, entered a smoke shop and tackled an employee who was also armed. The suspect was shot and is now in critical condition. The employee stated that it was impossible to prevent further harm when the suspect did not respond to requests to stop.
The Peoria Police Department informed Fox News Digital that they have recognized a potential culprit, but the individual, who is a 24-year-old from El Mirage, has not been taken into custody yet.
Although the police have suggested that an assault charge be brought against Vincent to Peoria City Court, his parents have stated that they will persist in advocating for their son.
Debora recounted that the officer's stance was that they could not make any arrests that day. She questioned the officer, stating that the individuals involved were adults while the offender was a minor, and expressed her disbelief at the officer's decision to let the matter slide.
Michael stated that he has forgiven them, however, forgiveness does not imply that they cannot be held responsible, and you can click here to obtain the Fox News app.
