The whistleblower's lawyers have informed Congress that the Department of Justice ordered the removal. The IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent and his team were informed that they were being removed from the investigation of the controversial subject, which the whistleblower had previously disclosed to Congress. The attorneys, Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt, wrote that the change was at the request of the Department of Justice.
