A leading Republican has proposed using the "power of the purse" to bring about reform in response to the findings of Special Counsel John Durham's report, which they argue demonstrate widespread politicization within the FBI during the Trump-Russia investigation.
According to Jim Jordan, the Republican Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, the recent discoveries of the Durham investigation are just one more indication of the FBI and other important government agencies leaning towards the left and supporting the establishment.
During his appearance on "Hannity," he addressed Sean Hannity's claim that the Justice Department is currently more weaponized than ever and that the federal bureaucracy is under the control of the Democratic Party.
Jordan suggested considering the matter.
The Clinton campaign collaborated with the FBI to target President Trump and his campaign in 2016. Similarly, in 2020, 51 former CIA agents and intelligence officials joined forces with the Biden campaign to pursue the same objective.
We have witnessed it on two occasions.
The FBI was involved in the initial one.
The second group consisted of ex-intelligence officials who shared the same goal of preventing President Trump from being elected. According to a report by House GOP, the CIA may have helped in getting signatures for a letter discrediting Hunter Biden's laptop. The report also revealed that a reliable source informed the FBI, during Jim Comey's tenure as director, that some of the allegations against Trump were fabricated by the Hillary Clinton campaign. However, the FBI ignored the evidence and continued to target Trump.
To make them responsible, we need to target the one thing that matters to everyone, which is the money.
We need to examine the allocations.
He stated that it is the only means of influence we possess in Congress.
Jordan stated that if there were any involvement of Republicans or conservative agency leaders in the matter being investigated by Durham, they would be held responsible.
Biden received criticism for referring to "white supremacy" as the most dangerous terrorist threat during his speech at Howard University. Some have labeled this statement as "pure evil." Meanwhile, Jordan believes that the behavior of federal agencies, such as the FBI, poses a threat to democracy. He claims that the unverified dossier compiled by Christopher Steele, which originated from the Clinton campaign, was amplified by the press as credible when it was taken to the FBI.
"If we attempt to speak the truth, they label us with derogatory terms."
We are labeled as individuals who support Russia, and the media is very enthusiastic about portraying us in that way.
He stated that in the end, the one thing that is consistently proven correct is that they were correct about it from the beginning.
In both instances, the severity of the situation was greater than our initial perception.
We need to continue discussing the matter.
If possible, we need to enact laws to address the issue.
Afterwards, we need to examine the finances, the allocations, and ask ourselves, "How can we allocate these funds more effectively? How can we optimize these funds? What measures can we take to prevent this from occurring again?"
