On Monday, a man was apprehended by federal agents at a hotel near Philadelphia for his involvement in the jailbreak of two prisoners from a local jail earlier this month.
According to FOX 29, Michael Abrams, who is 21 years old, was taken into custody on Monday afternoon in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. He is accused of assisting Ameen Hurst, who is 18 years old, and Nasir Grant, who is 24 years old, in their escape from the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center on May 7.
On Thursday, Grant was put back in custody while Hurst is still unaccounted for.
The authorities did not disclose the purported role of Abrams in the escape of the inmates.
The prison break has resulted in the arrest of three individuals, with him being the latest one.
Xianni Stalling, aged 21, was accused of escaping and engaging in criminal conspiracy, while Jose Flores-Huerta, aged 35, was charged with hindering apprehension, criminal conspiracy, and escape.
Flores-Huerta was already in prison for his involvement in a group assault that resulted in the death of a 28-year-old in September 2021. Nasir Grant, a Philadelphia inmate who had escaped from prison, has been apprehended again, but another inmate is still missing. Robert Clark from the U.S. warns that those who do not cooperate in the investigation or were involved in the escape will face arrest warrants.
According to FOX 29, the Fugitive Task Force of Marshals reported on Monday about the arrest of Abrams.
It is claimed that Stalling and Hurst became acquainted while Hurst was in prison for a stabbing incident that occurred last autumn.
In February, she was set free after the charges against her were dismissed.
Authorities suspect that Stalling played a role in arranging the phone call between Hurst and an unidentified individual, which took place three hours prior to the prison break. During this conversation, Hurst made plans to be picked up in the vicinity of a bridge located behind the correctional facility.
It is claimed that Stalling hinted at the escape in a video conversation with another inmate one day after the event.
The perimeter guards were not present when two prisoners escaped from a Philadelphia prison, and it is believed that their absence could have stopped the escape. One of the prisoners, Stalling, is said to have told the other that they had the chance to flee.
Approximately two hours before correctional staff, Philadelphia police, or media outlets were informed of the escape, a conversation occurred where someone stated that they had not heard anything about inmates leaving, but that they had simply climbed the fence and ran away.
Despite Hurst and Grant being absent during three headcounts after their escape, authorities were not aware of their absence until approximately 3 p.m.
May 8th was the date.
The doors to their cells and the recreation yard were not secured, enabling them to move around without being noticed. They then proceeded to create an opening in the fence that encircled the recreation yard.
Afterwards, they scaled two more fences that were covered in barbed wire and made their way onto a road that was located outside of the prison.

As of Tuesday morning, he is still evading authorities and is deemed "hazardous" by officials. Grant was previously detained for allegations of drug and weapon conspiracy.
The recent prison escape in Philadelphia marks the first occurrence of such an event since 2010.
